Originating from an ancient Chinese myth, the acrobatic show Mulan describes a story about a young girl named Hua Mulan who joined the army in place of her father. With acrobatics as its main feature, integrating beautiful dance, martial arts and refined stage designs, this acrobatic show takes on magnificent warring scenes and re-enacts a fascinating saga, making itself unique and excel from other shows.
This show is divided into five acts, Lantern Festival Night, Joining Army for Father, Struggling against Bandits, Falling in Love at a Moonlit Night and Warriors Coming in Triumph. It highlights a sense of responsibility to protect the home country and the daring character of the heroine Hua Mulan. It also exhibits performers’ stunning acrobatic skills, thus bringing a breathtaking visual shock for audience.
About 40 professional acrobatic performers, dancers and martial arts performers, from Chongqing Acrobatic Troupe, including 17 teenage performers with the youngest one only 11 years old, will tour in Sydney. Chongqing Acrobatic Troupe has received international and domestic awards for its wonderful programmes many times. In particular, the troupe has received “Splendour Award”. The troupe has toured overseas quite a few times and visited over 80 countries and more than 400 cities. It has thus become very popular and highly recognized among the international audience all over the world.
